can someone help me with VCI update

Hello. I have a problem with my J2534. It pairs with the VCI. When I connect via USB and try to update the VCI become with an red X and it says make sure you have connected the VCI via USB. But the VCI is connected via USB. And now I can't update the VCI. Can someone help me please??

Did you plug to the OBD plug for 12volt power also your tool connected to the internet connections..............?

Maxisys Elite. Yeah I pluged the 12 volt power to the VCI. Connected it via USB and
paired it . it pairs and at the bottom shows the VCI in Green. When I tap update the VCI
becomes RED. And it says connect the VCI via USB.But the VCI is connected. And now
I can't update.please can you help me????? -

I did. With the other USB cable and it's the same. Maybe their is a problem with the port
on the VCI? -

I installed the software in the PC. But when I try to connect it it says USB
malfunctioned on every PC. And it can't find the device -
